How to be Mosquito

About Mosquito Control

Do you wonder about Mosquito Authority’s process? Curious about how we can help reduce mosquitoes at your home or place of business? Here are some answers to common questions we receive from new and potential customers. If you have additional questions, reach out to us at 800-709-1190.

How does it work?

Our service is based on the 3-week life cycle of the typical mosquito. Each time we visit your property we do an inspection of the treatment area, and identify standing water that could serve as a mosquito breeding area. When possible, we eliminate the standing water. In areas where we cannot eliminate the standing water we apply a granular treatment that eradicates the larvae of the mosquito.

We then move on to applying our barrier treatment which focuses on shaded areas that mosquitoes prefer as habitat like bushes, trees, and shrubs. Our barrier treatment continues to eliminate mosquitoes on contact for up to 3 weeks. Every 21 days we return to repeat the process.

Does it work right away?

Though many of our clients experience a mosquito-free yard after the first treatment, it is not unusual for maximum control to occur after the second or third treatment. Our service eliminates most of the adult mosquitoes immediately, but some may linger until our service has time to take full effect.

What if it doesn’t work?

We’re committed to your complete satisfaction with our service, and we stand by our guarantee. If at any time after your two initial services you or a family member are bitten by mosquitoes, we will return, reassess, and retreat if necessary. We are so confident in our service that we offer it to you with no contracts and no commitments. If you are not satisfied, there is no obligation to continue service.

Do treatments stop as soon as Summer is over?

In order to best control mosquitoes in your yard, it is recommended to start as early as possible in the Spring and continue treatments as late as possible in the Fall. When adult mosquitoes lay eggs, those eggs can survive the colder months (even the harshest winter), so treating your property in the Spring, Summer, and Fall will best control the mosquito population. The length of mosquito season will depend on your climate, so it is best to contact your local office for the recommended treatment schedule.
