Summertime means outdoor fun time, but it’s no fun if the bugs chase you back in. Of course, at Mosquito Authority we know how to keep you free of mosquitoes and ticks. Regular barrier treatment and preventative service will keep you mosquito-free and tick-free between treatments.
So what about the other bugs that bother you when you’re trying to enjoy yourself outside? How many meals are disrupted by flies and gnats and other bugs? Williams Sonoma has some clever ideas to help keep you pest-free, that we can share with you here:
Fans – Bugs can’t fly well in wind, whether it’s real or manufactured. Setting up fans near your seating or dining area can keep away the bugs and give you a welcome, cool breeze.
Herbs – Some herbs have repellant qualities, so filling a vase with sprigs of rosemary, basil, lavender, lemongrass, or mint (or any combination of them) can keep you bug-free.
Cover Your Food – When your family-style spread is out on the table, tight-fitting lids can prevent the bugs from being drawn to the food.
Divert Them! – It’s been said that if you put a piece of food or a sugary beverage in a place away from your dining area, the bugs will be drawn to it instead of your meal. We’re not sure how effective it is, but it’s worth a try!
Dryer Sheets – The jury is still out on this one, but dryer sheets may be effective in repelling bugs from the immediate area. Putting one in your pocket or laying some on the table may help keep you comfy and bug-free.
